Brendan Dowd

Advanced Sports Massage Therapist

Brendan is also a native of kildare and joined the Physiofit team as a fully qualified Sport Massage Therapist at the beginning of 2021.  Brendan brings a range of services such as Sport Massage, Remedial Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Sports Maintenance Massage, Pre and Post Event Massage, Dry Needling and Kinesiology taping.

Brendan also specialises in Cupping Therapy which is a safe alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. This suction improves the flow of energy in the body, helps resolve chronic muscle tightness and pain, reduces inflammation, increases blood flow, relaxation and wellbeing.

During physical activity, muscle tension builds up in the body, overextension or overuse, minor adhesions and imbalances occur within these tissues that can cause tightness, pain and poor athletic performance. Sports massage helps alleviate pain and prevent injuries that can affect movement, mobility, flexibility, strength and overall performance in training. .

During the massage Brendan will really listen to our patients and adjust the techniques according to their needs. We really believe that through massage we can help individuals ease tight muscles, enhance circulation, reduce pain and stress, and enhance day to day quality of life.

Outside of the clinic, you will find Brendan competing in long endurance running and triathlon events, so has experienced first hand the benefits massage has for athletes of all abilities during both training and competition.
